QNN Texas has come a long way since its early days, when its operatives conducted a lot of surveillance and operations under the cover of darkness. Shifts were arranged to ensure that targets were always under observation, and most of the work was carried out in the wee hours of the night. Many of the team members adapted to this nocturnal schedule, sleeping during the day and working at night to carry out their mission.
During those late nights, Kevin, the founder and chief investigator of QNN Texas, would often make a call to the Zoo, the popular radio station KZEW in Dallas, Texas. The station was a favorite among listeners back then and was manned by two popular disk jockeys, John Rody and John Labella. Kevin became familiar with the two Johns, and their conversations would sometimes be aired live on the station. It was during these talks that the two DJs affectionately dubbed Kevin "Gumshoe", a moniker that would stick with him for years to come.
The memories of those early days, when QNN Texas conducted its operations under the cover of darkness, remain cherished. The popular radio station KZEW in Dallas, known as the Zoo, was a frequent haunt of the QNN team during those nights, where Kevin and the two popular DJs, John L and John R, struck up a lasting friendship. The nostalgia of those times and the camaraderie shared with the folks at the Zoo are something that is dearly missed. However, the world has changed since then, and QNN Texas continues to do what it does best, working tirelessly to fulfill its mission. The team has adapted to the changing times, and there is never a dull moment in their line of work. Though the days of the Zoo may be over, the spirit of the Gumshoe lives on.
